About Greerton Athletics

At Greerton Amateur Athletics Club our objective is "To engage in and foster the spirit of the sport of athletics".
Primarily focused on junior athletics, we run regular club nights to develop our members’ fitness and athletic skill levels. We endeavour to provide a fun and healthy competitive environment, promoting and encouraging fair play and good sportsmanship. For the more competitive athletes there are many opportunities to try their skills at different levels. The season runs from October through to March.
Our membership is made up of children from the age of 1 to 14 years of age, and we currently have around 340 members.
Our home ground and club rooms are located at Pemberton Park, Fraser Street, Greerton, Tauranga. Please click here for a location map and directions.
Club nights are Mondays, from 5.30 to 6.30 for the athletes aged 6 and under (Mini Club), and from 5.30 to 7.30 for the Junior Club. Our own club based coaches may be available during the club nights.
There is the opportunity for members to attend regular “Ribbon Days” around the Waikato and Bay of Plenty Regions, usually held on Saturdays throughout the athletics season. These are fun events that are organised to guarantee everyone at least one place getters ribbon. At Greerton Athletics there is a level of competition for every level of ability.
Other events on the athletics calendar include the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Children's Championship, Colgate Games, Interprovincial Championships and the Trans Tasman games which are usually well represented by Club Members.
