Calendar Of Events

GREERTON/Bellevue RIBBON DAY

(10:00 - February 25th, 2012)

To be held at the Tauranga Domain.

No event fee or pre registration required.

All Greerton Athletic Club members are invited to come, other Clubs from BOP and Waikato may attend. Starts at 10am.

A miniclub programme is run for 1-6 year olds, all children will win a ribbon for their great efforts.

Grades 7 to Grade 14 compete in events and win ribbons (every child should receive at least one ribbbon). Children choose what event/s they wish to enter - just listen for the announcement and marshall at the event. Relays are also held later in the afternoon.

We will have a BBQ and coffee cart available with refreshments.

Competing children must be in full Club uniform. Bring lunch, sun block, lots to drink and enjoy a great family day. We will require Club parents to help on this day - could be setting up and packing up equipment etc

Waikato Bay of Plenty Triple Jump Champs will be held on this day.

All events are run in divisions, with no finals. Please note if a Ribbon day is washed out on the Saturday, it may be run on the Sunday. Check at our website if required.

All Club registered athletes in full correct uniform may compete.

All events are subject to the availability of officials and helpers. Usually each Club is given an event to assist the Official appointed, if you see our Club members helping at an event it would be great if more parents from our Club came forward (even just an hour of your time) - many hands make light work, and then our members get a break and a moment or two to watch their own children.

Entry is free, and all children should receive a ribbon by days end (check for the event they run in 3 per race).

An athlete cannot compete in more than 2 longer events (400m, 800m, 1500m, Race Walk) on any 1 day.

Relays are held at the end of the day, athletes may be moved up a grade to make up a Club team.
